Magic URLs – what are they and how to use them

After you enable Magic URLs you will be able to enable extra options by adding simple parameters to the URL of your site, e.g. https://example.com/?tracking=off.

At the moment there are 3 parameters that you can use:

  1. /?tracking=off
  2. /?tracking=reset
  3. /?tracking=test-events

Attention. These parameters are intended to be used by logged-out users and will have no effect if you are logged in.

Let’s explain them one by one.

/?tracking=off

If you add ?tracking=off to the end of the address of your site, e.g. https://example.com/?tracking=off, you will disable all Full Picture’s tracking for your browser.

In other words, you won’t be tracked in the browser that you used to enter the URL with additional parameter.

/?tracking=test-events

This option is intended for debugging Full Picture’s custom events.

If this parameter is enabled and a custom event triggers:

  1. no events will be sent
  2. their data objects will be displayed in the browser’s console

Attention. If you disabled tracking with /?tracking=off and then entered /?tracking=test-events, then all tracking scripts enabled in Full Picture’s panel will start tracking you again.

/?Tracking=reset

This parameter negates /?tracking=off. Your site will behave as if you visited it for the first time.
